Online Crime & Prevention

The Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012, officially recorded as Republic Act No. 10175, is a law in the Philippines approved on 12 September 2012. It aims to address legal issues concerning online interactions and the Internet in the Philippines. Among the cybercrime offenses included in the bill are cybersquatting, cybersex, child pornography, identity theft, illegal access to data and libel.
While hailed for penalizing illegal acts done via the internet that were not covered by old laws, the act has been criticized for its provision on criminalizing libel, which is perceived to be a curtailment in freedom of expression.
On October 9, 2012, the Supreme Court of the Philippines issued a temporary restraining order, stopping implementation of the Act for 120 days, and extended it on 5 February 2013 "until further orders from the court."

Online Banking & Shopping

Online Banking

Online banking (or Internet banking or E-banking) allows customers of a financial institution to conduct financial transactions on a secure website operated by the institution, which can be a retail or virtual bank, credit union or building society.
To access a financial institution's online banking facility, a customer having personal Internet access must register with the institution for the service, and set up some password (under various names) for customer verification. The password for online banking is normally not the same as for telephone banking
Financial institutions now routinely allocate customer numbers (also under various names), whether or not customers intend to access their online banking facility. Customer numbers are normally not the same as account numbers, because a number of accounts can be linked to the one customer number. The customer will link to the customer number any of those accounts which the customer controls, which may be cheque, savings, loan, credit card and other accounts. Customer numbers will also not be the same as any debit or credit card issued by the financial institution to the customer.
To access online banking, the customer would go to the financial institution's website, and enter the online banking facility using the customer number and password. Some financial institutions have set up additional security steps for access, but there is no consistency to the approach adopted.

Online Shopping

Online shopping or online retailing is a form of electronic commerce which allows consumers to directly buy goods or services from a seller over the Internet using a web browser. Alternative names are: e-web-store, e-shop, e-store, Internet shop, web-shop, web-store, online store, and virtual store. An online shop evokes the physical analogy of buying products or services at a bricks-and-mortar retailer or shopping center; the process is called business-to-consumer (B2C) online shopping. In the case where a business buys from another business, the process is called business-to-business (B2B) online shopping.

The largest of these online retailing corporations are eBay and Amazon.com, both based in the United States. Retail success is no longer all about physical stores, this is evident because of the increase in retailers now offering online store interfaces for consumers. With the growth of online shopping, comes a wealth of new market footprint coverage opportunities for stores that can appropriately cater to offshore market demands and service requirements.

Entertainment & Leisure

From the many responses and feedback that we have attained a fair conclusion can be arrived onto to understand the demands and the challenges that are necessary to improve and leverage on this space of the Internet revolution.
The Internet had made information much more easily available and accessible.
Social Networking Sites have contributed to making the world a closer place to live in and help us to stay connected with our friends and family.

Through social networking sites, people can stay connected in the virtual world with friends and like-minded people sharing the same interests and likes, keep in touch with existing friends, make new friends, connect with old friends and also create real–life friendships through similar interests or groups. Besides the fact of establishing important social relationships, social networking users can share their personal interests with other like–minded members by enrolling themselves in forums and groups.

A few networking sites like Linked in and Facebook can also help members establish business oriented contacts and also find a job in communities posted. These sites have also been lately a point of sale for companies looking to hire people with talent as this enables them to drill down deeper into finding the right candidates and relate to them better.

Online Employment

Online employment doesn't have a major difference with the traditional work done in the offices. This field of working is extremely improving due to it's major advantages.
Some giants in this field is Google and Remote Staff

$tep$ of doing a online job

  • First you need to be 18 years old.
  • Apply for a online screening test
Employment screening tests are typically forms or questionnaires composed of test or interview-type questions. The questions may be multiple choice, yes/no, rank-order, or open-ended. The questions are used to gauge job applicants’ knowledge, skills, attitudes, and/or personality before conducting a phone screening or in-person interview.
  • A job applicant’s performance on the test determines whether he or she moves on to the next round of the interview process.
  • Now he/she will sometimes get the job.

Old is Gold !!!!!!

In 1994 Robert J. McGovern began NetStart Inc. as software sold to companies for listing job openings on their Web sites and manage the incoming e-mails those listings generated. After an influx of two million dollars in investment capital  he then transported this software to its own web address, at first listing the job openings from the companies who utilized the software. NetStart Inc. changed its name in 1998 to operate under the name of their software, CareerBuilder. The company received a further influx of seven million dollars from investment firms such as New Enterprise Associates to expand their operations.
