Staffordshire Ambulance Service

The Staffordshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust was the authority responsible for providing National Health service (NHS) ambulance services in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent in the West Midlands region.Staffordshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust was created in 1992 and covered most of the county of Staffordshire. Until late 2004, there was little change in the executive and nonexecutive team. From then on, a number of changes took place: a new chairman and a non-executive director were appointed to the trust’s board and, in March 2006, the chief executive, who had been in post since the trust was created, left the trust. The medical director, who was also the deputy chief executive and who had been working in the trust since 1999, left at the end of March 2006. Following the departure of the previous chief executive, an acting chief executive was appointed, along with an acting medical adviser who left the trust at the end of July 2006. The previous medical director returned to the trust on 25 July 2006 and on 1 August 2006 he was appointed acting medical adviser. A joint director of clinical performance (with West Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust) was appointed in November 2006. Staffordshire Ambulance Service no longer exists following a merger with West Midlands Ambulance Service on 1 October 2007.

My ideas about technology that can
improve the ambulance service!!!!!!

  • Ambulances can use GPS systems to track shorter paths and avoid traffic.
  • They can have video conferences with specialized doctors all over the world while taking the patient to the nearest hospital.
  • They can have systems to change the traffic light on streets while taking a patient this could make the journey much more faster.
  • Ambulances can have special systems to give notices to the vehicles near it ,to give space to the ambulance to move.
  • Ambulances can close a lane on highways so that it will have to face less traffic.
